A Carl Sandburg Middle School student was taken to the hospital Wednesday morning after a vehicle struck them at a bus stop.

The incident occurred around 7:24 a.m. at a crosswalk on Woodbourne Road near the Woodbourne Apartments in Middletown Township. The student was approaching a regular Neshaminy school bus stop when the vehicle struck them.

According to the District’s release, the driver of the striking car remained at the scene when police and an ambulance arrived.

The parents’ of the student quickly arrived after the accident. The District did not have specific information on the condition of the student but ensured the injuries were not life-threatening.

The bus delivered the remaining students to Sandburg with assistance from additional Neshaminy drivers. The students who witnessed the incident were offered counseling after arriving at school.
