Residents from New Hope to Wrightstown Township will vote to replace their State Rep. on May 15 during a special election.

Speaker of the House Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny County) made the order Monday to fill the vacant seats for the 48th Legislative District in Allegheny County and the 178th.

Former State Rep. Scott Petri (R-Bucks) recently announced his registration and new position with the Philadelphia Parking Authority. Rep. Brandon Neuman (D-Washington) was sworn in as a judge with the Washington County Court of Common Pleas.

Those elected in the two districts on the primary election date of May 15 will take office after the results are certified.

District offices are currently under the supervision of the House to assist constituents with any issue or inquiries already in progress.
