As Yardley Borough, Lower Makefield Township, and parts of Falls Township remain under a boil water advisory, Pennsylvania American Water has found the cause of turbidity in its water.
Although the specifics are still unclear, PAWC announced Saturday mechanical control issues within their treatment plant are responsible for the cloudiness in the water. Residents are still advised to boil all water before consumption, with some exceptions for other uses.
Unfortunately, the water distributor stated it was unsure of when the repairs would be made. Previously, municipalities were reporting the boil water advisory would remain in effect at least until Sunday. Now it seems it may last longer.
Water trucks are available from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. everyday until the advisory is lifted at the following locations:
- Yardley Makefield Fire Companies 105 South Main Street Yardley and 652 Stony Hill Road, Lower Makefield Twp
- Big Oak Shopping Center 1641 Big Oak Road
- Village Market 599 Washington Crossing Road, Lower Makfield Twp
- Gas Light Village 85 Makefield Road, Falls Twp
Residents should bring their own containers to fill with water.
The PAWC has said it is working with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
