The Falls Township Board of Supervisors presented a check worth almost $11,000 to the Barkann Family Hearts Foundation thanks to funds generated during this year’s Touch a Truck event.

Supervisor Jeff Boraski initiated Touch a Truck three years ago. He has coordinated with various non-profits and charities through its tenure.

“This year we reached out to the Hearts Foundation and brought them on board. It was probably our most successful year yet,” Boraski said. “From the vendors, to the contractors and construction equipment, we had people reaching out to us.”

Mike Barnes, executive director of the Barkann Family Healing Hearts Foundation thanks Falls Township for its support of the non-profit organization.

Kids had a chance to climb on dozens of vehicles and see how they all come together to make society function. The day featured bounces house despite the wind, and face painting.

This past April’s event also featured a sensory-free hour for children with autism.

Middletown resident Mike Barnes is the executive director of the Barkann Family Healing Hearts Foundation. He thanked Falls Township for its support of the non-profit organization at this past week’s meeting.

Barkann will use the money to help those who have lost loved ones to illness and sudden tragedies.
