Update: Tomlinson leads by 74 votes after Wednesday’s count, according to Tomlinson Campaign Manager Ryan Ryan Skoczylas.

State Sen. Robert “Tommy” Tomlinson is the likely winner over challenger State Rep. Tina Davis in the 6th senatorial district race, according to the senator’s campaign. An official announcement is scheduled early next week by the Bucks County Board of Elections that reviewed about 100 challenges for the Nov 6 election.

Although the board has not provided an updated count in the 6th district race, the unofficial results show the incumbent senator beat Davis by a mere 100 vote margin. The numbers revealed Tomlinson received 54,319 votes and Davis 54,219, or 1/10 of 1 percent.

The 6th senatorial district is comprised of 13 municipalities in Lower and Central Bucks, where Democrats outnumber Republicans by at least 18,000 votes, with another 26,000 voters registered in other parties or unaffiliated.

Earlier this week, the county board approved 13 provisional ballots as valid, with nine going to Tomlinson and four to Davis. Regardless of the outcome of the senate race, Davis, who ran for two offices, retained her 141 st state representative seat. –pw
