Three More Die From COVID-19 In Bucks County

An updated map of cases in Bucks County as of Tuesday evening.

Coronavirus claimed another three lives in Bucks County Tuesday and nine more people are in the ICU. This brings the total number of deaths to six since Saturday.

Health officials say all three were older adults with chronic health issues. But for two of them, no one knew they had the virus until after they died.

One victim was a woman in her 60s. The others were both males in their 80s and 90s.

“We continue to express our sympathies to the families in these cases,” said Bucks Director of Health Dr. David Damsker.

The number of cases in the county has risen by 31 to a total 319. So far, 48 people have recovered from COVID-19.

Morrisville Borough also has its first presumptive positive. The highest number of cases are still in Lower Makefield, Middletown, and Northampton Townships.

Damsker also reiterated there are many more unofficial cases not on the radar. These people may just be experiencing mild symptoms and do not need emergency care, freeing up tests for those who need them.

Despite the recent deaths, Damsker says he thinks social distancing is starting to show its effects. New cases due to community spread are limited to essential workers and those who traveled out of the area.

Statewide, the number of cases has risen to 5,805 as of noon Wednesday. 74 people have died due to coronavirus in the commonwealth.
