Eight Super Bowl’s ago Jason Miller, a fifth-grade teacher at Eleanor Roosevelt Elementary School, started the Super Duper Bowl.

Grade level classes compete the Friday before Super Bowl Sunday to create their own football champion. This year Joe Melnick’s class became the Melnick Mashers. While Roger Keen’s class transformed to Kean Kongs. Alrene Toledano’s students spun into the Toledano Tornados. And the Miller Mean Machine all competed for the trophy.

“All the kids had fun and that’s the most important part,” Miller said after the game. “No one got hurt, we had a great time, and it was a successful day.”

Miller mentioned this year is a little extra special since the Eagles are heading to Super Bowl LII.
