To help people protect themselves from identity theft after tax season, State Representatives Gene DiGirolamo and Kathy Watson will each be hosting their own shredder events on Saturday, April 28th.

Shredder events allow residents to dispose of any documents with important information such as social security numbers, credit card numbers, and bank statements.

DiGirolamo’s event is being held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of DiGirolamo’s district office at 2424 Bristol Road, Bensalem.

Watson’s event will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the parking lot of Central Bucks High School South, located at 1100 Folly Road, Warrington. Only residents of Warrington, New Britain, Chalfont, Hilltown, Silverdale, Telford and Dublin will be allowed and proof of residency is required.

Only loose papers can be processed by the shredding machines, which means anything like paper clips, staples, binders, and clips must be removed ahead of time. Magazines, books, and trash will not be accepted.
