WBCB 1490 joined State Rep. Frank Farry Friday for his annual Senior Expo at the Neshaminy Activity Center in Trevose. Attendees came for the free pretzels, information, and opportunity to speak with their local state rep.
Among the organizations with tables set up around the room include St. Mary Medical Center, the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance, and Bucks County Transport, Inc. Whatever senior-esque information people needed, it was probably in the main hall.
Farry made his way around the room, speaking with people who decided to come out. Historically, each expo brings hundreds of seniors, with many waiting half an hour before the doors open at 10 a.m.
The venue also featured a drug take back program, where people could bring old medication. This option has become especially popular in recent years in light of the opioid epidemic.
The local state rep. also made his way over to the WBCB broadcast table for a segment on Speak Your Piece with Pat Wandling. They discussed property tax relief for seniors, fire safety, and the Safe to Say Act.
