St. Mike’s Students Tour WBCB, Meet Merrill Reese

Students and parents from St. Michael the Archangel had the opportunity to tour the studio of WBCB 1490 AM Friday. They met Voice of the Eagles and station Vice President Merrill Reese, and got a behind the scene look at broadcasting.

Principal Stephen DiCicco, who is a big fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, helped to organize the tour. He took photos and videos while students explored the station in Levittown.

After a brief introduction, students went into the production room to record radio “bumpers.” These quick audio files will be played throughout the coming weeks, especially between songs.

Merrill Reese spoke to the students about life in broadcasting. He discussed the importance of being on time and how even he, after more than forty years as Voice of the Eagles, gets nervous before every game.

St. Michael the Archangel will be hosting an Open House on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 6 p.m. for prospective students. There will be prizes for parents who register that evening, including:

  • $200.00 Tuition Credit (New. This prize will still be open to all winners that evening.)
  • Entire Year NUT (No Uniform Today) Pass Valid for every dress down day for the 2020/2021 school year
  • Regular NUT passes (3) / Homework Passes (3)
  • Lunch with the Principal (4)
