Today, a day of mourning for George Floyd – a most appropriate day of mourning. The funeral service in a Houston, Texas church was filled with family and friends, prayer and song. No politicians, no strangers, only the Gospel and personal memories of George Floyd.

It is worth saying, again, George Floyd did not deserve to die the way he did. Nor does George Floyd deserve to have his name associated with the violence and crime we saw on the streets, including the community he loved.

George Floyd should be remembered, instead, as the catalyst for changing hearts and minds, everywhere. Amen.
