Drivers in Newtown and motorists using Oxford Valley Road should be aware of changes to certain roads impacting traffic patterns.

Oxford Valley Road Interchange in Falls, Lower Makefield, and Middletown townships will be closed Wednesday and Thursday nights this week for bridge beam painting. On May 16 and May 17 from 9 P.M. to 6 A.M., drivers traveling southbound on Route 1 will have to exit at Oxford Valley Road and rejoin at the entrance ramp for the interchange.

The work comes after a vehicle struck the beams last year, causing enough damage to warrant a repair.

A more permanent change has occurred in Newtown at the intersection of South Lincoln Avenue and Centre Avenue. Anyone crossing the intersection on South Lincoln Avenue will have to come to a complete stop before crossing thanks to new stop signs.
