The Lower Southampton Township Police Department is thanking the community for helping to catch a “Red Bully.”
Officers arrested Steven Dunleavy, 30, on Thursday, Apr. 25 after receiving a tip from the community. The informant detailed Dunleavy’s identity and whereabouts.
“The Lower Southampton Police Department would like to commend its Crimewatch followers for providing information in this case,” it said in a post.
Though he is a resident of Bensalem, police say Dunleavy targeted GIANT Food Stores in Feasterville and Middletown. He is charged with retail theft for allegedly making multiple trips and stealing an unknown amount of cases of Red Bull from the stores.
Dunleavy faces a third-degree felony charge for the theft. Arresting Detective Douglas Heiduk confirmed the stolen property is valued at less than $200.
Authorities are holding Dunleavy in Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of 10% of $40,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is currently scheduled for May 8.
