Police Need Help Finding Retail Theft Suspects

The Lower Southhampton Police Department is looking for information relevant to two unrelated retail thefts. The two suspects have been dubbed the ‘Smokin’ Bandit’ and the “‘Maddy’ Cow Pal” by police.

“MADDY” COW PAL

Police have one suspect in custody after what they call a conspiracy to steal meats from the Feasterville GIANT. On Sunday afternoon, two people entered the store and allegedly left without paying.

Authorities have identified one suspect as Jonathan Maddy, but the woman is still loose. The two arrived to the store together in a gray van. It has damage on the passenger side, and police believe the owner lives in Bensalem.

Anyone with information on either suspect should contact the Lower Southampton Police at 215-357-1235.

The Smokin’ Bandit

A man stole cigarettes from the Wawa on Street Road and Philmont Avenue at 4:36 AM last Tuesday, May 14, according to authorities. He asked the clerk for the cigarettes and then asked for a cigar as well. When the clerk turned around to retrieve a cigar, the thief allegedly took the cigarettes from the counter and fled.

Authorities are looking for the public’s help in identifying this suspect. Unfortunately, a bad angle and covered face made it difficult for security cameras to get a clear image.

A press release stated that “Officials suspect that the Smokin’ Bandit may be ashamed of his activity or his facial appearance may be so shocking that he would have frightened the clerk away.”
