The Pennsbury School District is hosting a job fair as it looks to fill full-time, part-time, and substitute positions throughout the school district. Job seekers can turn out from 3 to 6 p.m. to Penn Valley Elementary School’s gmynasium on August 6th.
Pennsbury Communications Supervisor Ann Langtry said this is not their first rodeo. However, this is the district’s first job fair at the elementary school as the high school is currently seeing some repairs.
“We’ve held these in the past and we’ve really received good response,” Langtry said. “We usually get a very good turnout.”
Various district administrators will be on location to speak with potential candidates and answer questions. Anyone looking to attend should bring a resume and dress for success.
“Pennsbury is a great place to work. I’ve been here 12 years myself and the staff is terrific,” Langtry said. “As far as teachers go, we have a lot of demand for positions here. A lot of people come back who attended Pennsbury and are interested in coming back to their home district.
Jobs on offer are many and vary from teachers to social workers, and nurses to custodial staff. But these positions can also mean a foot in the door.
“Pennsbury offers the opportunity to grow within the organization,” Langtry said. She encouraged people visiting the job fair to inquire about upward mobility. “Sometimes people start out as a substitute on a part-time basis, and that can lead to full-time employment.”
Penn Valley Elementary School is located at 180 North Turn Lane in Levittown.
