The 4th annual Night to Remember overdose awareness event was held on Thursday, at Steps to Recovery in Levittown. The evening focused on bringing together members of the Bucks County community in order to honor overdose victims by breaking the stigma of addiction.

Dominic, who works with Angels in Motion, recounted why this event is necessary for the
community.

“People open up in places like this, and they talk with each other, and share experiences they have,” Dominic said. “We’re trying to direct people off the streets, and we’re trying to save one life at a time.”

Dominic has dedicated his time to advocating for those suffering from addiction all over the Greater Philadelphia Region. He works with Angels in Motion to curb addiction and suffering on Kensington Avenue in Philadelphia, and meets with others involved in overdose advocacy to make ‘blessing bags’ for people suffering from addiction.

This event takes place all over the Greater Philadelphia Region, and will continue to do so through Steps to Recovery and Angels in Motion.

Attendees enjoyed food, music, games, and community, and the evening ended with a lantern ceremony to honor loved ones lost to drug overdoses. Resource tables were set up, provided by the Bucks County Drug and Alcohol Commission, Middletown Township, and Angels in Motion.
