Bucks County Dems endorsed its candidate for Congress last weekend.
Scott Wallace, a lawyer, and philanthropist beat out Rachel Reddick, an early announcing candidate, former Navy officer and currently a lieutenant in the U.S. Naval Reserves. Another announced hopefully was Steve Bacher, of Lower Makefield, who urged an open primary rather than a party endorsement.
In the Republican party, there are three candidates in the running for the seat now held by Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, a former FBI supervisor, who is seeking re-election. They are Dean Malik, a lawyer and U.S. Marine veteran, and Valerie Mihalek, a Yardley Borough councilwoman.
Dean Malik previously had filed for the congressional seat in a primary several years ago but withdrew in support of then-Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick.
The primary election will be held May 15. The winner of each primary will face off in November. –PW
