The Morrisville YMCA will be the focus of a much needed revitalization project with the help of Habitat Bucks and borough employees. The cooperative effort to revamp the building’s interior begins on President’s Day, Feb. 18.
The building, located at 200 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, serves 137 children throughout the area. Before and after school programs offer their families a chance to work flexible schedules while the kids learn and play.
“We love it when we can make community connections. Bringing together employees from Morrisville, where we are building four new Habitat homes, and the service project at the Y was a perfect fit,” said Florence Kawoczka, Habitat Bucks’ executive director.
The project will include Morrisville Borough employees and Habitat Bucks volunteers alike taking up paint brushes and brooms. A new paint job and cleaner play spaces will help provide a more suitable environment for everyone.
“Morrisville Borough employees are thrilled to partner with Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County for a day of service,” Manager Scott Mitchell said. “This ‘all hands on deck’ employee event is the first of its kind for Morrisville Borough and we are pleased to be partnered with Habitat Bucks to execute our community service project.”
