A man has been arrested on charges of aggravated assault for allegedly ramming his car into two Bensalem Police vehicles.
VanDaniel Gossett, 39, was sitting his Cadillac sedan around 11:20 a.m. Wednesday when two officers attempted to check on him. A nearby business had filed a report of a suspicious man sitting in his vehicle, an affidavit revealed.
Authorities say before police could even ask Gossett to roll down his window, the man put his vehicle into reverse, hitting a police car. He then crashed his car into the police vehicles multiple times before fleeing, according to a press release.
Gossett allegedly fled southbound on Bristol Pike, and officers could not give chase. Authorities apprehended Gossett the next day.
Neither officer was seriously injured.
Gossett will be staying in Bucks County Correctional facility in lieu of bail. He faces six felony charges and one misdemeanor for the incident.
