Fire companies and EMS squads in Lower Bucks have received more than $439,000 in state grants. These funds will be used on equipment, training, and other necessities.

The Office of the State Fire Commissioner announced the funding late last week. Grants from the state are necessary for these organizations made up of volunteers to survive.

All funds in the 2019-20 Fire Company and Emergency Medical Service Grant Program come from state gaming proceeds.

The total amounts awarded to fire companies within Lower Bucks municipalities are listed below. Totals are rounded to the nearest dollar.

  • Langhorne – $36,730
  • Morrisville – $26,989
  • Newtown – $23,166
  • Penndel – $14,111
  • Trevose – $42,607
  • Tullytown – $12,331
  • Yardley – $22,009
