Monday evening, a car verse pedestrian crash lead to a search for the driver who fled the Street Road and Philmont Ave scene in Trevose.

The Lower Southampton Township Police Department confirmed with WBCB 1490 AM a 19-year-old woman died Tuesday from her injuries sustained, and a second victim, an 18-year-old man suffered minor injuries.

According to reports, the two were a couple who recently graduated from Bensalem High School. Jess Kurtz and Will Vanarsdale were crossing the street when the car struck them.

Chief Ted Krimmel of the Lower South Police, said the driver stopped at the scene and helped Vanarsdale move Kurtz before returned he returned to his vehicle and took off along Street Road into Bensalem. The Lower South and Bensalem Township Police responded to the victims.

“The person that was driving that vehicle, we’re asking him to come on in and talk to us,” Chief Krimmel said. “That would be the best thing for him to do.”

The driver is described as a black male about 30-years-old, thin build and stood just over 6 foot. He was wearing a blue baseball cap, black shirt, and dark jeans.

Not Actual Vehicle, similar make and model

During the investigation, Police learned the vehicle should be missing its passenger side mirror and have a broken passenger side headlight. The car is believed to be a two-tone maroon and tan/gray two-door Ford pickup truck with an attached ladder rack, circa 1997.
