The Bucks County Visitor Center in Bensalem is currently displaying a collection of restored books containing deeds and other records dating back to the county’s establishment.
The collection on display is the first batch out of a long term restoration plan including 700 books in total. So far, the Recorder of Deeds has restored approximately half.
Paul Bencivengo, Vice President of Visit Bucks County, spoke about the importance of the artifacts.
“There’s some great historical value in there, and its really cool to just check them out and see some of the documentation that dates back to the 1600s, 1700s, 1800s.”
“We’ve seen a lot of people come through to check out the books, and then they can check out everything else we have here in the visitor center.”
These historic records will be at the center until June 15. The Bucks County Visitor Center is located at 3207 Street Rd in Bensalem.
