The Hamilton Township School District is kickstarting a Senior Citizen Pen Pal Program to connect people during the pandemic.
Hamilton seniors are invited to write a letter to students and send it to a dedicated email for distribution. Seniors could write about a variety of topics like movies, hobbies, life experiences, or places they’ve visited.
Hamilton Township seniors can email their letter to:
email@example.com. Using email instead of paper letters will mitigate the possibility of spreading coronavirus.
With parents’ permission, the students can send back either a written email, picture story, drawing, or a poem. Students must submit their responses using a Google Form here.
Seniors should indicate whether they want to write to an elementary, middle, or high school student. All responses will be reviewed before being distributed.
Anyone with questions can reach out to Hamilton Township Senior Center Coordinator Olivia Barthelson via email at OBarthelson@hamiltonnj.com. Alternatively, Hamilton Township School District Grants, Communication & Sponsorships Coordinator Laura Geltch is available via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
