An additional six week course of free art classes will be offered to veterans at Bucks County Community College. Popular demand from veterans interested in the arts is driving this extra course load.
Instructor Rose Marie Strippoli will host “Water Color Techniques” at the Epstein Campus in Bristol Township beginning Sept. 20. Classes will be held each Friday from 9 a.m. to noon through Oct. 25.
The first class at BCCC of its kind this past spring was completely filled. Plus, the free classes being offered Tuesdays this fall are already full.
Action Manufacturing Company of Bristol Township is sponsoring the class and supplies. All course leaders are donating their time.
“Art is such a great way to express oneself, so we thought it would be a great opportunity for our veterans to take advantage of this creative learning experience for free,” said James Sell, executive director of the Epstein Campus at Lower Bucks. “It’s also one other way to recognize and appreciate their service to our country.”
The campus is located at 1304 Veterans Highway. Veterans can contact Christine Tompkins at 267-685-4802 to sign up for the class or email Christine.Thompkins@bucks.edu.
