Police swarmed the Bel Aire Trailer Park in Morrisville Thursday shortly before noon on reports a man had been shot in his head and the suspect was on the run. Now, authorities have Thomas Zorrer, 36, in custody on charges of attempted homicide for allegedly shooting his victim in the ear.
Officers followed Zorrer all the way to Penndel Borough where PA State Police eventually arrested him.
Zorrer, a homeless man, was reportedly living with his girlfriend in the victim’s home. The victim, 32, is only known in court records as KH.
Believing he was doing a good deed for someone in need, KH had opened his doors to a convicted felon on the edge. Zorrer and his 25-year-old girlfriend were having an argument Thursday morning, and police say he eventually snapped.
When K.H. stepped in, Zorrer allegedly pistol-whipped him and fired his 9 mm handgun. Being a convicted felon, Zorrer was not legally allowed to own the firearm, adding to his list of charges.
The Levittown Fairless Hills Rescue Squad responded to the scene and took KH to St. Mary Medical Center. He is recovering and doctors released him in relatively good health.
District Justice Daniel Baranoski set bail at 10% of $2,000,000, leaving Zorrer to remain in Bucks County Prison until a hearing on Mar. 13.
However, police say Zorrer’s handgun is still unaccounted for. Anyone with information should contact Detective Catherine Coffman at (215) 949-9100 ext.# 318 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
