The DeLorenzo family has famously been serving its community for 75 years, passing the business along 3 generations. Now, DeLorenzo’s The Burg is the family’s way to serve the Lower Bucks area, located right on New Falls Road in Levittown.
The Burg’s ‘Trenton Tomato Pie’ has been a customer favorite since the business first opened in 1944. Its signature sweet tomato sauce and crispy crust attracts customers from all over the region. Located in Trenton, Robbinsville, and now Levittown, DeLorenzo’s continues to be a local staple in every place it operates.
“My Grandfather and all his brothers started it,” said Tyler DeLorenzo, owner of Levittown’s DeLorenzo’s The Burg.
Tyler, now 25 years old, opened up The Burg in Levittown almost 3 years ago. He actively works to carry on the family’s renowned history. DeLorenzo started out working with his family at a very young age, and continues to be ingrained in the family business.
“I grew up working,” said Tyler. After working for his uncle at the Sloan Avenue spot, Tyler went on to earn a degree in Culinary Management/Arts from The Institute of Culinary Education in New York City. DeLorenzo then opened up his own DeLorenzo’s in Levittown to continue the family legacy in Pennsylvania.
Tyler DeLorenzo says he believes in working within and for the community, and makes customers a top priority.
“The biggest thing here for us is the interaction with customers,” Tyler said. Whether they’ve never been to DeLorenzo’s before, or they’ve been coming since childhood, Tyler wants everyone to feel like family when they’re in his restaurant.
Tyler has also made a point to hire young people within the community, including kids from Pennsbury High School, to give them opportunities, and to further teach them how to be successful in a working environment.
DeLorenzo’s The Burg in Levittown is open Tuesday through Sunday. To find out more about the DeLorenzo story, check out their website.
