The Falls Township Fire Marshal is investigating an apartment fire after the flames left one woman severely burned.

Local police and the Fairless Hills Fire Department responded to the Aspen Falls Apartment Complex on Trenton Road around 5 p.m. Monday evening.

When they arrived, residents had already used fire extinguishers to put out the blaze. They contained the damage to a single apartment in building E.

But one 41-year-old woman had serious burns on her face, arms, and torso. The Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad transported the victim to the St. Mary’s Hospital helipad. A helicopter then flew her to Temple for treatment.

Investigators found three smoke detectors were missing from their holders and could not be found. The Falls Township Police and Fire Marshal’s Office are conducting a joint investigation.

Anyone with information should contact Fire Marshal Richard Dippolito at 215-949-9000 extension 250.
