Bucks County Prothonotary Judi Reiss.

Bucks County Prothonotary Judi Reiss has ended her bid for Congress, becoming the first candidate to withdraw from the PA-01 race. She announced a campaign for the primary nomination in July, 2019.

Reiss was one of several candidates hoping to unseat Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) in the upcoming November election. She announced her decision to withdraw on social media Monday morning.

“Over the past year, while running to serve you in the United States Congress, I have also continued to serve as Bucks County Prothonotary, a position in which I was elected to do by the people of this county. I am honored to hold that position. I have also continued to be a wife, mother and grandmother, no easy task. However, I feel I can no longer give each of these very important jobs my all, or provide each the attention they so rightfully deserve.”

Reiss served as a Supervisor for Lower Makefield Township before running for County Prothonotary in 2017. She won her bid and resigned from her Supervisors position.
