The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office has filed new documents claiming a suspect knew his victim was pregnant when he allegedly strangled her to death.
Anna Angok was at home in her apartment on Newportville Road in Bristol Township last September with her 2-year-old child. Text messages show earlier in the day she had broken up with her boyfriend earlier in the day, according to the DA. In those text messages Jaleel Lamar Loper, 28, accused her of aborting her child.
Then, on Sept. 26, 2018, police received a phone call from an unidentifed man indicating urgency. The caller included Angok’s Glen Hollow Apartments, but not his own name.
“Please hurry,” he said.
Police arrived to the scene around 6:30 p.m. to find Angok, 29, strangled to death. Her son was sitting in a chair nearby.
Almost a year later, the DA now believes Loper knew Angok was still pregnant at the time of the alleged murder. This will allow prosecutors to pursue the death penalty.
Lopez now faces charges of criminal homicide, homicide of an unborn child and stalking.
