A suspect in the murder of a 14-year-old girl in Croydon is now in police custody on charges of stealing firearms from the girl’s father. Colin Haag, 20, who was living with his family, the Bartle’s, at the time of the incident.
Friday evening, Autumn Bartle, 14, was found with multiple stab wounds and gunshot wound when her parents arrived home after 6:30 p.m. on March 30. She passed away three days later at St. Christopher’s Hospital in Philadelphia.
During the investigation, police discovered two pistols were missing from the Bartle household. The firearms included a .380 Smith and Wesson Bodyguard pistol and a 9mm Smith and Wesson M&P pistol, which had been stored by Michael Bartle’s bedroom.
Colin Haag was found along State Road in possession of the missing firearms. He was suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the throat.
He was treated and recovered at Jefferson Hospital Philadelphia. Haag is now being held on $100,000 bail for felony theft of the firearms. A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for April 11 in Bristol.
