The child rapist who led authorities on a ten day manhunt will spend up to 20 years in prison.

David Hamilton, 48, resisted arrest when an officer in New Hope tried to detain him in September 2018. An officer was injured in a struggle, then the Lower Southampton man fled into the woods.

What followed was an intense search process with SEPTA K-9 units and officers armed with rifles. Eventually, the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force found Hamilton in the basement of a home in Aston, Delaware County.

Hamilton pleaded guilty to repeatedly abusing the two victims over several years. The charges include rape of a child, statutory sexual assault, and others.

The children were just nine years old when the grooming began. Now, he will grow old behind bars.
