Several businesses in the Croydon Shopping Center in Bristol Township were damaged by a Wednesday overnight fire.

A fire alarm was activated shortly after 10:00 p.m. at Sarappo’s Pizza. Croydon Fire Chief Tom Tryon arrived on scene, and noticed flames coming from the cockloft and front soffit of the laundromat next to the pizzeria.

The scene was upgraded to a building fire and additional fire companies from Bristol Borough, Bristol Township, Bensalem, and Bucks County Rescue Squad were notified.

The Bristol Township Fire Marshal & Emergency Management Director Kevin Dippolito believes the fire began from an external source.

“The fire appears to have started on the outside of the building,” Dippolito stated. “The fire then extended up into the cockloft space above the laundromat.”

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and zero injuries were reported from the incident.
