A standoff between law enforcement and a reportedly suicidal Bristol Borough woman with a firearm reached a peaceful conclusion. Local police responded to the 300 block of Washington Street Monday night around 7 p.m. to find a woman with a handgun on the second floor.
With a clear situation, the Bristol Borough Police called in SWAT. About 20 neighbors were evacuated temporarily to St. Ann’s Church.
Two hours passed before negotiators even made contact with the woman. Then, another two hours passed. Finally, at 11:15 p.m., the woman emerged from the home.
SWAT personnel took her into protective custody. The Bucks County Rescue Squad transported her to Lower Bucks Hospital.
