Update 9:03 a.m.: Falls Township Police confirmed the woman victim riding the bicycle was flown to Thomas Jefferson Trauma Center in Philadelphia for medical treatment. The man riding the motorcycle is still recovering from his injuries at St. Mary Medical Center.
Police believe the bicyclist was riding westbound on New Falls Road in the right hand shoulder before the crash. Then, around the area of Spirit Financial Credit Union, she began crossing New Falls Road. She then collided with a motorcyclist headed in the same direction riding in the westbound lane.
One woman was seriously injured after a bicycle and a motorcycle collided Wednesday evening in Falls Township.
A mangled bicycle and scattered motorcycle parts in front of the Fairless Hills Credit Union on New Falls Road told the story to motorists driving by shortly after 6 p.m.
The Falls Township Fire Marshal confirmed the section of road was closed from Hood Boulevard to the nearby entrance of Magnolia Hill while the investigation continued.
This is the second serious crash with a motorcycle in the local area in two weeks. A Levittown resident was killed in late June after a BMW convertible pulled out onto N. Oxford Valley Road.
