Bensalem Mayor Offering Annual Scholarship

A local mayor’s scholarship foundation looks to ease the pain of first year college cost. The Mayor Joseph Digirolamo Scholarship foundation is now accepting applicants for their annual scholarship available to high school seniors going to college in the fall.

Dawn Davis, the primary assistant to the mayor, says that the scholarship’s goals is to help Bensalem Seniors with college costs

“The primary mission is to provide funding for Bensalem Seniors in the community,” Davis explained. She also provided some tip for willing applicants. “Be clear and Be concise. Communicate how you would want to improve yourself in this world by going to college”.

The application requires a completed application, financial information from the parents and a 500 word essay on how the scholarship will help the student complete their education.

The application can be found the application on the Bensalem Township website here or in the Bensalem Township Municipal building. The deadline is April 12th.
