Bensalem’s week of Electronic Recycling begins Monday, May 13, and lasts through this Saturday. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. Monday though Friday and close at 2:30 p.m., but Saturday’s hours are shorter, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Bensalem residents can bring old computers, DVD players, and even stringed Christmas lights to the Public Works facility at 3800 Hulmeville Road. Basically, if a piece of technology has a plug it’s worth bringing.

Some items are not allowed like CD’s, batteries, and hazardous waste. People should remove phone batteries before turning in their old cell phones.

SAMR, an electronic recycling company, will be managing the heavy lifting. Workers will be checking ID and commercial businesses are not allowed.
