A 50-year-old man from New Jersey is in critical condition after being hit by a motorist on Bristol Pike Thursday morning.

Police say the man was crossing Route 13 around 6 a.m. outside of a designated crosswalk. As he made his way across the northbound lanes, a 35-year-old driver from Bensalem struck him.

Just northbound of the PA Turnpike, there are no crosswalks near the scene of the incident.

The Bucks County Rescue Squad responded to the scene and transported the victim to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital. The motorist, driving a gold Chevy Equinox, stopped at the scene and cooperated with police.
