The Bensalem Township Police have made yet another round of arrests in their pursuit to prosecute heroin traffickers. Authorities took three suspects into custody Saturday as part of a narcotics investigation and seized $4.5 million in heroin and horse tranquilizers.
Only one of the suspects, Hamlet Bentacourt Pimentel, 38, was in the country legally. ICE has placed a detainer on the other two suspects for entering the country illegally.
During the execution of a search warrant, officers say they found overwhelming evidence of drug possession and distribution. They allegedly caputed Jose Nieves Velez, 31, Emanuel Rodrigues-Santiago, 31, and Pimentel in the act of manufacturing drugs for sale.
In the rented apartment located at 1262 Neshaminy Valley Drive, investigators tallied a long list of evidence. This includes hundreds of baggies of heroinn and fentanyl, three Kilograms of the same drugs, and 2400 ml of horse tranquilizers known as Xylazine. They also seized scales, rubber bands, stamps, grinders, and $40,000 in cash.
Police say Nieves Velez entered the country illegally while Rodrigues-Santiago is a previously deported convicted felon.
All three are staying in Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1 million bail.
